Can long distance relationships work?

I just got home from a mission trip and while I was there I met a girl from Pittsburgh. I live in Michigan. We both like eachother a lot and are considering a long distance relationship. do u think its worth it, or is it a bad idea. this girl is the perfect girl for me, she has every quality I've ever looked for in a girl. I've nvr met anyone like her before
